# John Wesley John Wesley (1703-1791) was an English clergyman, theologian, and evangelist who founded the Methodist movement, which grew into one of the world's largest Protestant denominations. A prolific writer and preacher who delivered thousands of sermons across Britain, Wesley emphasized personal holiness, social justice, and the experience of God's grace in the heart of the believer. In the Divine Love messages, he identifies himself as a current inhabitant of the Celestial Kingdom, and speaks with urgency about the need for humanity to awaken from the illusions of the mind and discover the soul's capacity to know God and Truth directly through Love. He acknowledges that his greatest earthly achievement was creating moral edicts rather than teaching the higher truth of the soul, and that his mind could not accept truths outside of biblical orthodoxy during his Earth life. He expresses disappointment that Methodism has not substantially changed since his time, and calls for a reformation of all churches toward the truth of God's Love and the power of the soul. ## From the archive's notes Biographical details established in [[2018-11-05 Speak Up for Truth and Change|2018-11-05-af-john-wesley]]: confirmed inhabitant of the Celestial Kingdom; acknowledges his earthly limitations in understanding Divine Love truth; his mind was restricted by biblical orthodoxy; expresses disappointment at the lack of change in Methodism; commits to continuing to support the circle from the Celestial Kingdom. ## Messages (2) - 2018-06-09 - [[2018-06-09 All Truth Begins with the Soul Awakened in Love|All Truth Begins with the Soul Awakened in Love]] - 2018-11-05 - [[2018-11-05 Speak Up for Truth and Change|Speak Up for Truth and Change]]
